Founded by Abdoulaye Niang, Sammy Bernoussi, Teddy Sanches, and Zakari Boukhari, Hall Haus has established itself as a key player in contemporary design.
Their innovative and sustainable approach, blending culture, experience, and functionality, has earned them notable recognition, including their recent integration into the Mobilier National collections.
In September 2025, Maison & Objet has called upon Hall Haus to take in charge the Artistic Direction of the new Design District, an incubator of creative energies celebrating emerging design and future trends.
You have been chosen to lead the Artistic Direction of the new Design District in September 2025. Can you tell us more about this project and what it represents for you?
Hall Haus: It is a great pleasure for us to take on the Artistic Direction of the Design District. This project is a true showcase of young creation and the trends of tomorrow. We have the opportunity to highlight emerging talents and celebrate boldness and experimentation in design.
The Design District is described as an incubator of creative energies. How do you plan to showcase the participants and creative talents who will exhibit their products there?
HH: Our approach is innovative and sustainable, blending culture, experience, and functionality. We envision a unique scenography that will highlight each participant. We want to create a space where creativity and innovation meet to redefine the trends of tomorrow.
Can you tell us about your agency and your journey so far?
HH:Our recent integration into the Mobilier National collections reflects our innovative approach and commitment to democratizing design. We also designed the trophy for the best dribbler in Ligue 1 football. With such projects, we position ourselves as mediators between popular cultures and the industry, drawing inspiration from sports, music, and our parents' African origins.
The Design District highlights bold and experimental decoration concepts. What types of concepts do you want to showcase in this space?
HH: We will use references from urban signage, such as signs and ground markings found in our cities, as well as references from the world of sports, like pennants, flags, and tifos.
How do you see the future of design, and what role do you think the Design District will play in this future?
HH: We believe in a future of design where creativity, sustainability, and innovation come together to redefine the spaces of tomorrow. The Design District, as an incubator of creative energies, will play a crucial role in highlighting the young guard and the trends of tomorrow.
