Victor Tison, a brass artisan, has been named the 2025 winner of the Young Creative Craftsmanship Award, a competition organized by Ateliers d’Art de France. After captivating visitors at the Révélations fair at the Grand Palais from May 21 to 25, he is now showcasing his brass creations in the Craft sector of Maison&Objet*, the international trade show for decoration, design, and lifestyle. The CRAFT sector at Maison&Objet: an international showcase for fine craftsmanship.
In 2025, Victor Tison is awarded the Young Creative Craftsmanship Prize by the French craft professionals’ union and is offered a booth at the heart of the CRAFT sector to unveil his latest unique pieces from September 4 to 8.
Thanks to this opportunity provided by Ateliers d’Art de France, the young creator enjoys a true springboard to present his latest brass creations over five days, alongside his peers, to thousands of international professional buyers (retailers, decorators, interior designers, hoteliers, department store buyers, etc.).
For him, it’s a dream opportunity to reach a broader audience eager to discover his world.
“It’s a chance to reach an even wider audience, to share work that is deeply meaningful to me, and a precious opportunity to express my world, my values, and the craftsmanship I strive to keep alive with rigor and passion,” he explains.
In his workshop, Victor Tison explores the artistic potential of brass, a noble and expressive material. Trained as a sheet metal shaper, he applies traditional metalworking techniques in a contemporary approach, blending furniture, sculpture, and design.
His pieces are distinguished by their organic, fluid forms inspired by movement, water, or textiles. The brass is hammered, folded, rolled, and sculpted with precision, then patiently polished to a brilliant mirror finish. Light reflects and diffuses across the surfaces, adding a sensory and sculptural dimension to each creation.
These works don’t just occupy space—they interact with it. Shadows, reflections, and light vibrations engage with their surroundings. Whether in a private lounge, hotel, or restaurant, pieces from Atelier Tison create a unique, refined, and immersive atmosphere.
For his new collection—spotted by interior designer Caroline Andréoni and unveiled at the Révélations biennial—Victor Tison innovates by exploring a new brass-forming technique: working with stretched metal tubing, revealing the hidden flexibility of the material. This series deepens his sensory approach to metal, playing with undulations, rhythms, and free curves.
Each piece reflects a demanding creative process, where technical precision becomes aesthetic pleasure. The pursuit of harmony guides every gesture, from modeling to polishing. Here, brass becomes more than a material—it’s a living medium, capable of emotion and transformation.
With this new series, Victor Tison asserts his place in the contemporary craft landscape. His work embodies French artisanal excellence and shows how brass creation can be a source of poetry, modernity, and light.
Since 1960, the Young Creative Craftsmanship Award has been organized by Ateliers d’Art de France to honor young artisans under 35. Created by the professional union of crafts in France, the award promotes new talents who combine exceptional know-how with a contemporary vision. Winners are selected by a jury of industry professionals for the artistic quality, technical mastery, and originality of their work.
The award offers tailored support, significant media exposure, and a booth at one of the union’s trade shows (Craft sector at Maison&Objet, International Cultural Heritage Fair, or Révélations), suited to the winner’s universe. In 2025, Victor Tison is honored alongside Sophie Autard, jeweler and engraver, and Pierre-Baptiste L’Hospital, shoemaker.
For Victor Tison, this recognition marks a turning point:
“Becoming a laureate of the Young Creative Craftsmanship Award, I was first and foremost moved that my work caught the eye of experienced professionals in the field. What followed was a deeply meaningful human experience, giving me the feeling of being supported on a virtuous and purposeful path. It also brought great media exposure during the Révélations fair. It felt like finally being brought into the light, after all those years spent in the shadows of the workshop, searching, creating, developing.”
